Jacob Moss, creator of Greenwich Fan Museum will talk on PAINTED PLEATS: A HISTORY OF EUROPEAN FAN PAINTING at TAS Birmingham's October lecture, which starts at 10:45 am.
In seventeenth century Europe, fan painting rose from a lesser branch of the Decorative Arts to become a specialised guild controlled craft. It had centres of production in France, England and many other European nations.  In the nineteenth century it attracted such artists as Gauguin, Degas and Sickert.  Do come along to learn more .....
