Four West Midlands Area Societies to the rescue …

Volunteers from four Arts Societies in the West Midlands have helped save a priceless collection of ancient books and documents from ruin at a major cathedral in the region.  Following the recent discovery of serious water leakage from the deteriorating roof of Lichfield Cathedral’s unique two-storey chapter house the call for urgent action by the Libraries Manager was swiftly answered by volunteers from The Arts Societies at Needwood, Solihull, Stafford and Stratford on Avon who set about moving these treasures to safety.
